# ActionSA in Mpumalanga has expressed concern at the Auditor-General’s 2024/2025 Public Finance Management Act audit findings of the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation. The Auditor-General’s report revealed that the department has regressed to a qualified audit opinion and exposed severe financial mismanagement and governance failures. ActionSA’s Thoko Mashiane says this regression stems from persistent vacancies in key financial positions, including the chief financial officer post, which has remained vacant for over six years:
