# ActionSA in Johannesburg has welcomed the dismantling of illegal structures and the shutdown of unregulated scrapyards in Ward 97, Roodepoort. This comes after residents complained about suspicious activities, including the erection of an unauthorised container and the operation of illegal scrapyards, one of which was linked to cable theft. ActionSA’s Elmari Atterbury says further investigations by the City’s Land Use Management department are underway, and may result in additional enforcement actions for zoning violations:
