# The City of Johannesburg will charge informal traders between 50 and 100-rand to rent their public facilities to sell their products. This is part of the metro’s efforts to regulate informal trading. There are between 20-thousand and 25-thousand informal traders across the metro. Johannesburg’s Economic Development executive director, Mathopane Masha, says the trading permits will be free, but the rental for the stalls depends on the size and where the market is as well.
