# Deputy minister in the Presidency Nonceba Mhlauli says the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention secured 139,693 earning opportunities for youth between April and June. Of these, 106-thousand were through SA Youth and 33-thousand-600 through the Employment Services of South Africa system. The programme helps young people move from education into work through employment, workplace experience, skills and enterprise support. Over 2.6-million temporary earning opportunities have been accessed since its 2020 launch, but the Presidency stresses these are not permanent jobs.
