# The South African Police Service has fired suspended organised crime head, Richard Shibiri, following a disciplinary process last month. Evidence presented before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry suggested that Shibiri accepted a payment of between 70-thousand-rand and 80-thousand-rand from murder-accused Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala. Evidence also linked him to alleged interference in several high-profile criminal matters. National police spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe, says Shibiri’s disciplinary proceedings were conducted fairly:
