# South African scientists, engineers and innovators are competing for top national recognition after the National Science and Technology Forum announced the finalists for the 2025/2026 NSTF-South32 Awards. The awards, known as the Science Oscars, honour outstanding work in science, engineering, technology and innovation across 16 categories. This year’s theme focuses on healthy ageing, with winners to be announced at a gala event in July. The awards show how science and innovation can help improve people’s lives.
