PSA calls for urgent action as universities withhold 165 000 student certificates [SOUND]

# The Public Servants Association Has expressed concern over reports that more than 165-thousand student certificates are being withheld by higher education institutions, due to a 59-billion-rand student debt crisis. The PSA’s Claude Naicker says the situation disproportionately affects poor and working-class students, limiting access to jobs and professional opportunities. The union calls for urgent intervention, including a moratorium on withholding certificates and the development of a comprehensive student debt-relief programme:
