# Defending champion Coco Gauff suffered a shocking third-round exit at The French Open yesterday. The American world number three was knocked out by 28th seed Anastasia Potapova in a tense three-set battle. Gauff had previously shown impressive form on the Parisian clay. She opened her campaign with a dominant 6-4, 6-0 victory over Taylor Townsend. She then cruised past Egyptian qualifier Mayar Sherif in two sets in the second round. Potapova who now represents Austria, will now face the 22nd seed, Anna Kalinskaya from Russia in the round of 16.
