# Police are intensifying nationwide operations against illegal immigration through Operation Shanela. Nearly one-thousand-900 undocumented foreigners were arrested in the past week alone for violating immigration laws. Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says since January this year, more than 29-thousand illegal foreigners have been arrested during intelligence-driven operations, roadblocks and stop-and-searches.
