# The National E-Hailers Federation of South Africa says it rejects the notion that the South African National Taxi Council is the apex body representing the e-hailing sector. Spokesperson Tella Masakale says the frequently referenced 2020 Transport Lekgotla resolutions cannot reasonably be used to justify such claims. He says the e-hailing sector was only officially promulgated into law in September 2025, making it impossible for any organisation to have legitimately represented a sector that did not yet legally exist:
