# The minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Parks Tau remains opposed to the liquidation of Tongaat Hulett and is determined to save more than 40-thousand jobs. Tau held a meeting with KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport and Human Settlements, Siboniso Duma, and the Zulu Royal Chancellor, Inkosi Malusi Zondi, in the King Cetshwayo District. The MEC’s spokesperson, Ndabezinhle Sibiya, says the Tongaat Hulett matter returns to the High Court next month:
