# Western Cape Mobility MEC Isaac Sileku has welcomed new service improvements on the Malmesbury rail line, effective today. Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa Western Cape has introduced an express service via Eikenfontein Station to reduce overcrowding and improve reliability. Sileku says the upgrades support plans to restore rail as the backbone of public transport, forming part of a broader integrated network including buses, taxis, e-hailing, and non-motorised transport options.
