# The City of Cape Town says the draft 2026/2027 Energy budget affirms plans to secure the metro’s dynamic, decentralised energy future, with less reliance on Eskom. The 71.3-billion-rand budget over the next three years will help enhance energy security, infrastructure investment, and improved affordability.
