GOOD Party accuses Cape Town of misleading residents in budget process [SOUND]

# The GOOD Party in Cape Town says the current public participation process on the city’s 2026/27 draft budget raises serious concerns about whether residents are being meaningfully informed or deliberately misled. The party’s Sandra Dickson says what they are witnessing across sub council budget engagements is not genuine public participation. She says the Municipal Systems Act is clear that public participation must be meaningful, informed, and capable of influencing decisions:
