# Union federation Cosatu has welcomed the Constitutional Court’s decision to deny the North West Transport Investments business rescue practitioner, Thomas Samson, leave to appeal directly to it. In July 2022, NTI entered voluntary business rescue proceedings due to its financial distress. Samson was tasked with stabilising operations and ensuring that creditors, including employees, would be paid. Cosatu’s spokesperson, Zanele Sabela, says four years later, the process has not produced the intended results:
