# First up is cricket: New Zealand Women thrashed South Africa by 92 runs in the fifth and final T20 in Christchurch to claim the series 4-1. Captain Amelia Kerr produced a batting masterclass, smashing 105 from 55 balls as the White Ferns posted 194 for six in their 20 overs. In reply, the Proteas Women were restricted to 102 for nine with Annerie Dercksen scoring 23, the only batter to get past 20 runs. The two teams will now turn their attention to the three-match ODI series, starting in Christchurch on Sunday.
# Soccer: Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has announced he will leave the club at the end of the season, ending a remarkable nine-year chapter. The 33-year-old Egypt international’s new two-year contract, which he signed last April, will be cut short by a year. Salah, who joined Liverpool from Roma in June 2017, will leave as the club’s third-highest goalscorer, and has also won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup. Salah says Liverpool will always be home:
# Golf: Fifteen-time major champion, Tiger Woods, says he is still unsure whether he will play at this year’s Masters in Augusta. The 50-year-old has spent a year rehabbing from a ruptured Achilles’ tendon and undergoing a seventh back surgery in October last year. The five-time Masters champion has not played a competitive round of golf on the PGA Tour since missing the cut at The Open in July 2024. Woods says he will continue to practise and see how it goes:
# Tennis: World number two Jannik Sinner is through to the Miami Open quarterfinals after defeating unseeded American Alex Michelsen 7-5, 7-6. The Italian will face another American, Frances Tiafoe, who battled past Frenchman Terence Atmane, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4. Spanish qualifier Martin Landaluce upset American 32nd seed Sebastian Korda to secure a 3-6, 7-6, 6-4 victory. In the women’s draw, the Czech Republic’s Karolina Muchova powered into the semifinals with a 7-5, 7-6 win against Canada’s Victoria Mboko.
And lastly, more tennis news is the two-time Grand Slam champion, Coco Gauff, is also through to the Miami Open semifinals for the first time. The American battled past Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3, to set up a clash with Czech 13th seed Karolina Muchova. In the men’s draw, 2018 finalist Alexander Zverev of Germany continued his quest for a maiden title in Miami with a 7-6, 7-6 win over Frenchman Quentin Halys. He will face Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo, who advanced to his fourth Miami quarterfinal with a 6-4, 6-3 win against Frenchman Ugo Humbert.
