# Suspended Police minister Senzo Mchunu’s chief of staff, Cedrick Nkabinde, has told Parliament’s ad hoc committee about his close friendship with KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkwanazi. Nkabinde, who has been implicated by Mkhwanazi for assisting Mchunu in drafting the letter for the disbandment of the political killings task team, detailed how Mkwanazi helped him find a job and how they supported each other during family bereavements. He describes their relationship as a strong bond:
# Mayibuye iAfrika has urged Parliament and government to establish commissions of inquiry and committees into the conditions of farm, mine, and domestic workers, as well as those in public works and security sectors. The movement’s president, Floyd Shivambu, also calls for probes into unemployment, township murders, gender-based violence, and black poverty. He emphasised the same urgency given to corruption inquiries must address the real socio-economic struggles of South Africans:
# The Freedom Front Plus views the postponement of the nationwide rollout of the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences system as a sign that it is beginning to collapse, just like the e-toll system. Transport minister Barbara Creecy has postponed the implementation of the AARTO Act to July next year. FF Plus’ Anton Alberts says AARTO’s pilot phase in Gauteng was riddled with glitches from the start, which have only worsened over time:
# China’s Foreign Ministry announced premier Li Qiang will attend the G20 summit in South Africa next weekend. Team Japan will make its debut, led by four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka. Eighteen countries will feature in the tournement for the fourth consecutive year.
