His friend and compatriot Ryan van Velzen finished second on 22 under par. Sunshine Tour rookie Warwick Purchase finished third on 20 under par with a closing 68, and is in the running for the Fortress Rookie of the Year title. Jarvis says the final round was tough:
# Motorsport: McLaren’s Lando Norris’s victory in the Sao Paulo Grand Prix in Brazil extended his drivers’ championship lead over teammate and title rival Oscar Piastri to 24 points. Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli finished second, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who started from the pit lane, taking third. Mercedes’ George Russell finished fourth while Piastri could only claim fifth after serving a penalty for causing a collision. Norris described this as the perfect weekend, after also winning the sprint race on Saturday:
# And tennis: Top seed Carlos Alcaraz got his quest for a first ATP Finals title and the year-ending world number one ranking off to the perfect start in Turin, Italy. The 22-year-old Spaniard defeated Australian Alex de Minaur in his opening Jimmy Connors Group match. In the Björn Borg Group, two-time winner Alexander Zverev of Germany also got off to a winning start, beating American debutant Ben Shelton. Alcaraz says he is motivated to win the tournament:
