# The Critical Minerals Africa Group says Africa’s growth hinges on industrialisation
# Motorists to pay less at the pump as petrol and diesel prices fall in November
# And, Donald Trump says he’s not considering providing long-range missiles to Ukraine
# Critical Minerals Africa Group CEO Veronica Bolton Smith says Africa cannot achieve economic growth without industrialisation. Speaking to SABC News, Smith stressed the need for full geospatial mapping of mineral resources, reliable power, and strong infrastructure. She urged Africa to own its data, invest in ports, roads, and water systems, and drive intra-African trade, to boost manufacturing, job creation, and value addition from its critical minerals:
# Motorists will pay less for fuel from Wednesday. The Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources says 93-octane and 95-octane petrol will drop by 51-cents per litre. Diesel prices will also fall by 19- to 21-cents per litre. Liquid petroleum gas will go down by 61-cents per kilogram, while illuminating paraffin decreases by one-cent per litre. The department attributes the cuts to lower international oil prices and a stronger rand.
# US president Donald Trump says he’s not considering providing Tomahawks to Ukraine any time soon. This follows reports that Ukraine has been lobbying Washington intensely to supply the long-range missiles in recent weeks. According to CNN, the Pentagon had given the green light for the US to provide Kyiv with the weapons, but Trump last night appeared to pour cold water on the prospect of it happening any time soon, telling the media he wasn’t considering it at this stage.
# Rugby: The Springboks have to beat France in Paris this coming weekend to prevent the All Blacks from taking over the number one world ranking. New Zealand narrowed South Africa’s lead after their convincing victory over third-placed Ireland, while the Boks big victory over 13th-ranked Japan didn’t give them any ranking points. France, now down to fifth position, would jump to third if they can defeat the world champions at the Stade de France. The All Blacks face eighth-ranked Scotland on Saturday.
# The Western Cape Department of Social Development says it champions the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities throughout the year. Disability Rights Awareness Month runs from the 3rd of November to the 3rd of December. MEC Jaco Londt says his department will intensify its efforts to encourage residents to help build a more inclusive, accessible society for all:
# And the financial indicators: The dollar trades at 17-rand-31-cents and the euro at 19-rand-92-cents. One British pound costs 22-rand-72-cents and Bitcoin trades at 108-thousand-36-dollars. Gold sells at four-thousand-16-dollars-14-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 64-dollars-79-cents a barrel.
