# Gauteng Traffic Department Inspector George Raftopoulos confirmed ordering a helicopter to controversial businessman Katiso KT Molefe’s home after reports of a bogus operation. Raftopoulos says he took video evidence for Tactical Operations Management and the Civil Aviation Authority regarding potential noise complaints. He denied allegations of interfering with a legitimate police operation, and emphasised volunteering to accompany the chopper to ensure no bogus officers were present at Molefe’s residence:

# Thailand and Cambodia have begun withdrawing heavy weapons and conducting de-mining operations along their contested border as part of steps to de-escalate tensions. This follows after the countries’ leaders signed an enhanced ceasefire deal in Kuala Lumpur in the presence of US president Donald Trump last week. Thai Defence Ministry spokesperson Surasant Kongsiri told a media conference his country is proposing the removal of land mines in 13 areas, and Cambodia in one.
# Cricket: Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar describes yesterday’s victory by the country’s women in the World Cup final as equivalent to what the men achieved in 1983. The hostesses beat South Africa by 52 runs in Mumbai to clinch their maiden title. Tendulkar says they have inspired countless young girls in India to pick up a bat and ball and believe they can also win a World Cup one day.
