City of Joburg says new state-of-the-art Central Fire Station will improve response time [SOUND]

# Johannesburg mayor Dada Morero officially opened the new Central Fire Station in Marshalltown on Thursday, addressing the long-standing shortage of firefighting resources. Equipped with nine of the metro’s 15 newly procured fire engines, the facility sets a standard response time of 15-minutes, bringing Johannesburg in line with international norms. The metro’s spokesperson, Virgil James, says this state-of-the-art station will ensure that firefighters are well-equipped to respond swiftly and effectively to fire and rescue incidents:
