# The City of Tshwane, in collaboration with ICLEI Africa – Local Governments for Sustainability and the South African Local Government Association, will host the first-ever Tshwane Town Hall Conference of the Parties today. With the theme being, Local Action, Global Impact, the gathering will provide an opportunity to deepen understanding of South Africa’s climate commitments. Mayor Nasiphi Moya says since the Paris Hall Agreement in December 2015 at COP20, the appreciation of the impact of climate change on local government and its role therein has triggered the need to enhance vertical integration in the climate engagement space.
