# The DA in the Western Cape has welcomed the unanimous adoption of the Standing Committee on Social Development’s report on the Child Protection Multi-Stakeholder Engagement. The report was adopted by the provincial Parliament. Statistics show that only four-percent of more than five-thousand reported child abuse cases between 2019 and 2024 resulted in convictions. The DA’s Wendy Kaizer-Philander says one of the key resolutions of the report is to establish an Ad-hoc Committee:
