# City Power teams have completed damage assessments at the Cydna Substation following a fire and confirmed that protection cables were damaged. Spokesperson Isaac Magwenya says repairs began this morning, with restoration expected by 6pm. Magwenya says preliminary findings suggest vandalism linked to cable theft, though investigations continue. Areas still affected include Houghton Estate, Killarney, Norwood, Melrose, Hyde Park, Illovo, and several surrounding suburbs.
