# The City of Tshwane says it is committed to further engagements with land owners towards finding a lasting solution to resolve the formalisation of land parcels in the metro. The metro has identified 17 informal townships and over 500 informal settlements established either on private, municipal or national government-owned land, which cannot be formalised due to the ownership. Mayoral committee member for Housing and Human Settlements, Aaron Maluleka, says the formalisation can only be done after the acquisition of land and the township establishment process is completed.
