# Deputy minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Andries Nel, says the Small Claims Courts have extended access to justice for many communities who previously had no access. In the first quarter of the 2025/2026 financial year, Small Claims Courts across the country registered over eight-thousand-515 new claims, with claims totalling 57.9-million-rand. The department’s spokesperson, Terrence Manase says the department continue to break down barriers to justice, especially for the most vulnerable members of our society:
