# The DA in the Western Cape says it has submitted a memorandum, signed by all its mayors in the province, to the acting minister of Police, Firoz Cachalia and Justice ministers Mmamoloko Kubayi. The party says this to expedite demand to empower capable municipalities to make their communities safer. The DA’s Tertuis Simmers says this week in particular, the DA have seen a spike in deadly crime, and sympathise deeply with the families and communities affected:
