# Johannesburg Water says it will invest more than 800-million-rand in sustainable solutions to address ongoing challenges with its Commando system infrastructure. The system lacks adequate reservoirs, bulk lines and pump stations, making it extremely vulnerable to service interruptions. The Commando system supplies water to communities, including Brixton and Crosby. Johannesburg Water says it has set aside 32.5-billion-rand over the decade to maintain, refurbish and expand the metro’s water and sanitation infrastructure.
