Saftu demands the withdrawal of the gazetted new Code of Good Practice on Dismissal [SOUND]

# The South African Federation of Trade Unions has condemned the Department of Employment and Labour’s decision to gazette the Code of Good Practice on Dismissal. The new Dismissal Code provides guidance to employers, employees and others on the legal obligations relating to termination of employment in terms of the Labour Relations Act. Saftu’s spokesperson, Asive Dyani, says the gazetting of this legislation was done without Parliamentary oversight and in defiance of submissions made by over 30 organisations:
