# The GOOD Party has submitted an urgent appeal to the Stellenbosch Municipality to address the sanitation and unhygienic conditions in the Devon Valley Emergency Camp. A resident of the camp, Arno Visagie, was admitted to the hospital in May for an emergency operation related to gastroenteritis. GOOD’s Marius van Stade says the persistent lack of sanitation poses a serious public health risk and violates residents’ constitutional right to a safe and healthy environment:
