# The City of Cape Town traffic service recorded over 2.7-million offences between July 2024 and June 2025, and a 49-percent increase in motorists running red lights. Speeding topped the list with 1.8-million offences, while driving, overloading, and other transgressions also increased. Officers made two-thousand-272 arrests, mostly for drunk driving, impounded 12-thousand-224 vehicles, while towing operations increased 61-percent.
