# From April to date, more than 55-thousand suspects have been arrested for various crimes in the Western Cape. These include 679 suspects for murder and 684 for attempted murder, which are mostly gang-related. Western Cape Police Commissioner, Thembisile Patekile, says nine-thousand-178 dangerous weapons and 880 illegal firearms were also seized:
