AfriForum does not support the Mineral Resources Development Amendment Bill [SOUND]

# AfriForum is warning that the Mineral Resources Development Amendment Bill will entrench environmental destruction and corruption by formalising destructive illegal mining. The bill, amongst other things, aims to introduce artisanal and small-scale mining permits, change the definition of community and meaningful consultation, and speed up mining projects. AfriForum’s Marais De Vaal says signing the bill into law before proven enforcement capacity and credible environmental oversight exist will undermine its stated intent:
