# The DA ha welcomed SAPS step of sending two Cape Town K9 handlers and their dogs for specialist narcotics training at Roodeplaat in Gauteng. Four medically fit, course-ready dogs remain untrained. The province currently has only one operational SAPS narcotics dog. The DA’s Nicholas Gotsell says this exposes SAPS’ slow, reactive crime-fighting approach amid the Western Cape’s escalating crime, leaving communities vulnerable to ongoing violence and crime:
