# Gauteng police are monitoring a protest at Maponya Mall in Pimville, Soweto following the death of an e-hailing driver yesterday. This after four assailants approached an e-hailing vehicle parked outside the mall’s entrance and opened fire, killing the driver and injuring two people. The incident is allegedly linked to tensions between taxi operators and e-hailing drivers. Johannesburg metro police spokesperson, Xolani Fihla is urging road users and residents to avoid the area if possible and use alternative routes:
