City of Cape Town continues to battle vandalism and theft related damage to electricity infrastructure [SOUND]

# The City of Cape Town’s energy teams attended to more than nine-thousand-800 streetlight repairs over July, out of a total of approximately 35-thousand electricity-related service requests. Parow, Goodwood, Mitchells Plain, Gugulethu, Wynberg and Muizenberg experienced the highest number of streetlight-related repairs with over seven-thousand-200 combined cases. Mayoral committee member for Energy, Xanthea Limberg, says the predominant cause of these faults is due to vandalism and theft-related damage to infrastructure:
