City of Johannesburg clarifies property rates adjustment [SOUND]

# The City of Johannesburg says the recent property rates adjustments already reflect on the municipal accounts for some residential property owners, following the implementation of the Property Rates Policy. According to the policy, residential property owners automatically receive a rebate on the first 300-thousand-rand of their property’s market value. The metro’s spokesperson, Poppy Louw, says that for owners with multiple residential properties, on the other hand, this rebate structure is applied only to the primary property with the highest value:
