# Mpumalanga Education MEC Cathy Dlamini has been axed following a provincial executive reshuffle, amid corruption allegations. The EFF opened a corruption case against her, alleging she solicited 600-thousand-rand in bribes from service providers for tenders in school nutrition and building maintenance. Dlamini denies the claims, saying they stem from resisting state capture attempts by an opposition leader. Lindi Masina has been appointed as the new Education MEC. She was a Speaker of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature and a former mayor of the Govan Mbeki Municipality.
