# South African low-cost airline FlySafair announced the launch of a new direct route between Cape Town and Hoedspruit in Limpopo, enhancing accessibility to the Kruger National Park. The town is surrounded by private game reserves. The new route, set to begin on the second of October, will operate three times a week. One-way flights will cost around one-thousand-570-rand. FlySaFair’s chief marketing official, Kirby Gordon, says they are proud to offer travellers a more affordable and convenient way to reach this incredible region.
# A high-level Green Investment Dialogue is currently underway in Walvis Bay, Namibia, bringing together parliamentarians and energy leaders from six African countries. The dialogue, which ends on Sunday, is shining a spotlight on the role of green hydrogen in Africa’s future energy and industrial landscape. Namibia’s Green Hydrogen Programme’s Jona Musheko says the dialogue is also looking at ways to accelerate climate finance for green energy zones and corridors across the continent:
# And finally: Global renewable power grew by 15-percent last year, largely driven by the rapid rollout of wind and solar projects in Asia. This is according to the Renewable Energy Statistics 2025 report released by the International Renewable Energy Agency. Asia accounted for 71-percent of new renewables capacity in 2024, followed by Europe with 12.3-percent and North America with 7.8-percent. IRENA director general, Francesco la Camera, says countries and regions that attract substantial investment in renewables are seeing enhanced energy security:
