# The ANC is ready to successfully defend any motion of no confidence in president Cyril Ramaphosa, should the DA bring it to Parliament. DA leader John Steenhuisen threatened to table the motion following the axing of former Trade deputy minister Andrew Whitfield. Party spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu says such a move would signal the DA’s exit from the Government of National Unity. She adds that Ramaphosa is not obligated to co-govern:
