# The City of Cape says its alcohol and drug treatment programme for adolescents has been a success. Today is International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. A recent report by the South African Community Epidemiology Network on Drug Use found that there has been an increase in females 18 years and younger who are seeking treatment for substance abuse in the Western Cape. Mayoral committee member for Community Services and Health, Francine Higham, says they are working to combat substance abuse:
