# President Cyril Ramaphosa says a lack of consequence management for underperforming officials and politicians is unacceptable in public service. Ramaphosa stressed that accountability must extend to both elected representatives and public servants. Addressing the National Council of Provinces, he said that failure to meet obligations should trigger disciplinary action. He added that the seventh administration is prioritising performance, constitutional accountability, elimination of corruption and improved intergovernmental cooperation:
