# The City of Tshwane says several areas are currently experiencing power outages after smoke was reported emanating from within the Brakfontein Substation in the early hours of this morning. The city’s technical team was immediately dispatched to the site and successfully isolated the communication panel suspected to be the source of the issue. The entire substation was switched off to allow the maintenance team to inspect and clean any carbon residue that may have spread to adjacent panels. The city says power restoration is anticipated later today.
