# Justice and Constitutional Development minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi, says she supports new regulations allowing government departments to bypass the State Information Technology Agency, when it comes to procuring IT services. Communications minister Solly Malatsi introduced the new rules last month. Kubayi told Parliament that SITA is the department’s weakest link, contributing to poor service and hindering digital progress. She insists that SITA’s inefficiencies justify the move towards alternative technology solutions.
