# The GOOD Party says the Western Cape’s housing backlog now sits at a staggering 688-thousand-824 households and is growing. In 2024/2025, the province completed only three-thousand-and-46 Breaking New Ground units and one-thousand-331 Finance-linked Individual Subsidy Programme units. GOOD’s secretary general, Brett Herron, says this is just four-thousand-377 homes, a mere 0.6-percent of the housing backlog:
