Charges dropped against former G4S employee Motanyane Masukela in Bester escape case [SOUND]

# The National Prosecuting Authority has withdrawn charges against former G4S employee, Motanyane John Masukela, in the Thabo Bester prison escape case. Masukela, on duty during Bester’s alleged fake death, appeared in the Bloemfontein High Court with eight co-accused for a pre-trial conference. In October 2023, charges against three G4S personnel were withdrawn. Prosecutor Amanda Bester confirmed the withdrawal without explanation and no objections. The case was postponed to 19 September:
