# The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union has condemned the violent attack on SAPS officers during a drug-related operation in Westbury, Johannesburg. Officers were pelted with stones and bottles after arresting a suspect, forcing them to withdraw. POPCRU spokesperson Richard Mamabolo praised the police for exercising restraint and urged the community to engage constructively, not violently. He called for improved trust and cooperation between residents and law enforcement, emphasising that public safety is a shared responsibility in the fight against crime.
