Real Reform for ECD welcomes R10-billion investment in ECD programmes

# Real Reform for ECD has welcomed the retention in the budget of ten-billion-rand in new funding to early childhood development programmes. The funds are expected to increase the ECD subsidy from 17-rand per child per day to 24-rand. It will also support increased access to ECD for 700-thousand more children, up to the age of five-years. Real Reform says increasing both the value and reach of the ECD subsidy is essential, as evidence shows meaningful benefits for children only come from programmes that meet basic standards of quality.
