# The DA in the Northern Cape has asked provincial MEC of Social Development, Nontobeko Vilakazi, to urgently explain the disruption in the migration of South African Social Security Agency gold cards to Postbank black cards. Card transitioning apparently came to a halt in Kimberley, with the process only due to be reinstated after the deadline in May this year. The DA’s Karen Jooste says this is concerning as 35-percent of social grant beneficiaries must still transition to the new card:
