# The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority has rejected claims that proposed firearm regulations will hinder private security firms. The draft amendments, published by Police minister Senzo Mchunu remain open for comment until 25 April. PSiRA clarified that the regulations won’t ban firearms or limit ammunition but aim to enhance oversight. The Authority says it welcomes public input and is committed to ensuring regulations support the industry while tackling non-compliance and rogue operators.
